Hearthbook – Delete your account and data
Last updated: 23 October 2026
You can delete your account in the Hearthbook app (developer: Fabulist) and all data you created at any time – fastest right in the app.
In the app
- Open Settings → Account → Delete account.
- If you like, save everything first with “Back everything up first” (one file with all your recipes).
- Tap “Delete for good”. If you signed in with Apple, you confirm once with Apple; this also disconnects your Apple ID.
- If you own a shared household with other members, hand ownership to someone else first (Settings → Household).
Without the app
Email fabulisti.stories@gmail.com with the subject “Hearthbook – delete account”, from the email address you signed in to Hearthbook with through Apple or Google. We delete your account within 30 days and confirm it to you.
If you chose “Hide My Email” with Apple, add the relay address to your email. You find it on the iPhone under Settings → [your name] → Sign in with Apple → Hearthbook.
An account without sign-in (anonymous) can only be reached from your phone and can only be deleted in the app.
What is deleted
- Your account with your email address, name and sign-in.
- Everything you created: your recipes (also in the bin), notes, your own shopping-list items and plan entries with your recipes – also in a shared book. A household of one is deleted completely.
- Prep ticks you set stay ticked, but without your name.
- The others in your household see once that you deleted your account and how many recipes are no longer in the book. The notice disappears after 30 days.
What stays
- Backups are gone after 30 days at the latest.
- The purchase history stays with our processor RevenueCat, linked only to the anonymous user ID, so a purchase can be restored. Apple and Google keep receipts under their own rules.
- Usage statistics and crash reports contain no content and are deleted under Google’s retention periods.
